CleanT Privacy Policy
CleanT ("CleanT," "we," "us," "our") provides residential cleaning services in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and surrounding areas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and booking process, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
When you request a price or book a cleaning through our site, we collect:
- Contact information: name, phone number, email address.
- Service address: the home or property being cleaned.
- Booking details: service type, home size (bedrooms/bathrooms), preferred date and time window, and any notes you provide (e.g., gate codes, pets, access instructions).
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. CleanT does not receive or store your full card number, card verification code, or bank account number — Stripe handles that data under its own security and privacy standards. CleanT does receive limited transaction information from Stripe (amount charged, payment status, last 4 digits of card, and similar metadata) to keep booking records accurate.
- Communications: messages you send us (e.g., through our Contact page, email, or text), and records of confirmations we send you.
We do not knowingly collect more information than is needed to schedule, staff, and bill for a cleaning appointment.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Schedule and staff your cleaning appointment, and share the address, access notes, and preferences with the cleaner assigned to your job.
- Process payment through Stripe and maintain accurate booking/billing records.
- Calculate an accurate price for your job — including using address-based mapping and routing tools to estimate drive time for a travel-based pricing adjustment.
- Send you booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and service-related updates by email and/or text.
- Respond to questions, handle damage or refund claims, and provide customer support.
- Improve our service and site (e.g., understanding which service types or areas are most requested).
- Send occasional marketing messages (e.g., seasonal specials, move-out season reminders) — only if you haven't opted out, and always with an easy way to opt out.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Text and Email Communications
CleanT's booking flow can send you email and text (SMS) confirmations and reminders about your booking. If you provide a phone number, CleanT needs your prior consent to text you under federal law (the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, TCPA), separate from just having your phone number on file.
By providing your phone number when booking, you agree to receive booking-related text messages from CleanT (appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates about your specific booking). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a CleanT text at any time to opt out of future texts; you'll still receive email confirmations for your bookings.
4. Who We Share Information With
- The cleaner assigned to your job — your address, access notes, and contact info, so they can complete the appointment.
- Stripe, our payment processor, to process your payment. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how it handles your payment data.
- Google, through Google Maps Platform (Places, Geocoding, and Routes APIs), to power address autocomplete as you type during booking and to calculate estimated drive time for a travel-based pricing adjustment. We send the address you enter — and location coordinates derived from it — to Google for this purpose; we do not send your name, phone number, or payment information to Google. Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles this data.
- Service providers who help us run the business — for example, a scheduling tool, email/text provider, or website host — solely to operate CleanT, under confidentiality obligations, and not for their own marketing use.
- Legal authorities, if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of CleanT staff or customers.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
5. Cookies and Site Data
CleanT's site does not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools. If that changes, this section will be updated to accurately describe what's in use before any such tool goes live.
6. Data Retention
We keep booking, contact, and transaction records for as long as needed to provide service, handle any disputes or damage claims, and meet our own tax and accounting recordkeeping needs (typically several years, consistent with standard small-business recordkeeping practice). You can ask us to delete your contact information from active marketing lists at any time (Section 8).
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including relying on Stripe for payment data (rather than handling card numbers ourselves) and limiting access to booking information to the people who need it to schedule and complete your service. No online system is 100% secure, and CleanT cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices
- Marketing opt-out: every marketing email or text from CleanT will include an unsubscribe/STOP option. You can also reach out through our Contact page to opt out.
- Access or deletion requests: you can ask what information we have on file about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through our Contact page. We'll honor deletion requests except where we need to retain records for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Alabama does not currently have a comprehensive consumer data privacy law of its own (unlike states such as California), so CleanT is not legally required to offer formal "right to know/delete" mechanisms the way businesses operating in some other states are — but we offer the above as good practice regardless.
9. Children's Privacy
CleanT's services and website are intended for adults booking cleaning services. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our Contact page. A dedicated support email and phone number will be published there as soon as they're set up.
